Kamal Haasan’s next project based on sri lanka

KamalHassan

The Mysskin-Kamal Haasan project is shaping up quite well. The latest reports on this venture, as mentioned by a popular Tamil magazine, are that it is based on the quest for Lord Buddha’s tooth. The story, we hear, is based on Lord Buddha’s tooth that still remains in a temple in Sri Lanka. There is a popular belief that the land in which the tooth is housed would flourish and due to this there was severe competition among the kings which resulted in wars killing scores of people. This tooth was originally with the Kalinga kings and after several wars it had finally landed in Sri Lanka. It is still unclear if the film would be a period one or whether it would be interwoven with the present day situation. In all probabilities the film’s backdrop could be Sri Lanka.

South siren Namitha is exuberant at the good response her latest movie Jaganmohini has got from her loyal fans. The busty belle was at her candid best while batting questions from media persons in Chennai at a press conference.

When a scribe asked her about her dressing style, Namitha replied: "I don't like to wear saris. If I wear a sari, lakhs of my male fans’ minds will be polluted due to my extra-ordinary sexy look. In fact I'm saving lakhs of my male fans from abusive and vulgar thinking by not wearing saris.”

Namitha also smiled off the query about her having any grudge against the media. The actress has lately become a bit reclusive for the fourth estate.

“You (mediapersons) are all my machans (brothers-in-law). How can I be angry with you all?” she responded with a smile.

When asked about the rumours that she’s shifting base to Bollywood, Namitha gave a straightforward reply: “I would prefer to remain a queen here rather than do small roles there.”

Answering a question about Nayantara’s reported comment that there’s too much competition among some actresses down south, Namitha said, “Maybe she’s right. But I don’t have any such problems, nor have I encountered any.”

Endhiran- Fire fighting scenes

enthiran-de18-2008

Shankar directed sci-fi action entertainer Endhiran’s climax portions are being shot in various locations in and around Chennai for the last one month.

The crew headed by Rajinikanth is now shooting a crucial fire scene for the film on a huge set put up at Prasad Studios. The huge set, a scientist’s laboratory going up in flames is the scene being shot, and may appear less than four minutes in the film.

Hollywood visual effects companies which have been roped in are closely monitoring the fire scene, so they can insert the graphics in the right frame when the film comes on the editing table. This is being done for the first time in Indian cinema, a practice started by George Lucas in Hollywood many years back.

Rajinikanth is hardly required for the shot but he sits through patiently the whole day, and watches the proceedings. Shankar the complete professional in a recent interview has said that how important graphics and special effects are in the film.
