Kamal Hassan’s 'Vishwaroopam 2' Latest updates!

The much awaited first look poster of Kamal Haasan's upcoming film 'Vishwaroopam 2' was unveiled by the actor and the film's female lead Pooja Kumar on the 6th of July at the 14th International Indian Film Academy Awards.

Well we all know that Kamal Haasan has opted for an upcoming composer Gibran for the sequel and cinematographer Sanu Vargesse has been replaced by Shamdat Sainudeen.

The latest update is that Anant Mahadevan is the new inclusion in the casting and Waheeda Rahman, who had a limited role as a psychiatrist in the first part, will have a prominent role in the sequel.

The sequel will be much more crisp than the first part with a running time of under 2 hours. Apart from the mind blowing action sequences Vishwaroopam 2 will talk more about the emotions and the romance factor will be on a high.

Vishwaroopam 2 is expected to hit the screens by this Diwali.

Kamal Hassan’s ‘Vishwaroopam DTH release!

 

The internationally critically acclaimed Kamal Hassan film ‘Vishwaroopam‘ still continues to make headlines.

This time, it is with regard to the DTH release. Earlier, Kamal Hassan had filed a complaint at the Competitive Commission of India (CCI) that he was threatened that the movie will be banned, had he released it in DTH.

There were severe protests that any movie should not be released in other media, before it hits the big screen. Now the Director General of fair trade regulators is probing the case and the results are expected to come out by the end of this month.

According to CCI‘s report, the DG ordered completion of investigation in 60 days.

Kamal Haasan to edit Vishwaroopam?

Kamal Haasan has reportedly been asked by Tamil Nadu government officials to edit his film Vishwaroopam by about an hour, if he wanted it to hit screens in Tamil Nadu.

The Madras high court had on Monday postponed its decision till Tuesday on a plea filed by filmmaker
and actor Kamal
  Haasan for a stay on the two-week ban imposed by the
Tamil Nadu government on his film - Vishwaroopam's release in the state. The judge asked Haasan to explore options of settlement with the government.

The judge observed since he is in Chennai, he should meet government officials and explore amicable solution. The filmmaker is likely to meet govt officials on Monday.

High court judge, Justice K Venkataraman had on Saturday watched Vishwaroopam at a special screening along with Tamil Nadu advocate general A Navaneethakri-shnan and representatives of Kamal Haasan and Muslim organisations.

The Tamil Nadu government had put the release of the film on hold just a day before it was to hit theatres, following protests from Muslim groups that alleged the film hurt their religious sentiments.

Support for the superstar poured in from the film fraternity even as Vishwaroopam was screened in Karnataka and Kerala despite sporadic protests. The Telugu version released in Andhra Pradesh capital Hyderabad a day after being screened in the rest of the state.

Kamal’s 'Vishwaroopam' removed from cinemas!

Kamal Hassan starrer Tamil movie "Vishwaroopam", which focuses on international terrorism, has been withdrawn from cinemas in Malaysia following a directive from the home ministry, a media report said.

Penang Muslim League president Datuk Najmudeen Kadeer urged the National Film Development Corporation to review the film, saying "it portrayed Islam in a negative light", Star Online reported.

The film's distributor Lotus Fivestar AV said it was told to stop screening the movie Friday. The film opened Thursday to packed houses.

"We will refund those who purchased tickets through advance bookings, or allow them to use it for other films," company director Datuk R. Ramalingam said.

The film had been approved by the Censorship Board.

A few movie goers, however, said it was a fictional work and people should be given the opportunity to watch it and make up their own minds.

A few people who tried to buy tickets were disappointed with the ministry's decision.

"There has been so much publicity about the movie and I really wanted to see it," said A. Chandran. "I hope the government will reconsider."

"Vishwaroopam" was banned by the Tamil Nadu government when 25 Muslim organisations objected to the film on the ground that it portrays the community in bad light. The Madras High Court also restricted the film's release till Jan 28. A judge will see the movie and decided on its fate.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's spy-thriller film 'Vishwaroopam' which created waves with its teaser trailer release is all set for release. Now, the next which comes in all our minds is the release date and it is speculated to be in the month of August after Ramzan festival.

Kamal Haasan has written the story and handled the direction besides producing it. Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah Shekhar Kapur play important roles in this film. Kamal Haasan is presently busy with the post production work which is going on in full swing in the USA.

Being an international spy-thriller of sort, the film has been shot in various foreign locations. The film has been simultaneously prepared in Hindi and a dubbed Telugu version will be released as well.

Music director trio Shankar Ehshaan Loy, who composed the tunes for Kamal Haasan's 'Aalavandhan' (Abhay in Hindi) has score the music for Vishwaroopam, Vairamuthu has written the lyrics, Sanu Varghese has done the lens work, and Mahesh Narayan has taken care of editing.

Kamal Hassan Vishwaroopam, whose first look poster along with a small audio teaser was released on the 1st of May 2012, will release its audio by June.

The film directed & produced by Kamla himself, stars Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose, , Jaideep Ahlawat, Samrat Chakrabarti, Zarina Wahab, Shekhar Kapur in a special appearance.

Asin replaced Katrina in Kamal Hassan film!

It was earlier reported that Katrina Kaif has been considered to play the female lead in Shankar's multi-lingual with Kamal Haasan (Tamil), Mohanlal (Malayalam) and Prabhas (Telugu). But grapevine is now abuzz that the filmmaker is now toying with the idea of casting Asin as the lead lady in this magnum opus!

Kamal Haasan Kathak dance training!

Kamal Haasan will leave for the US with his 75-member crew on December 15th. The star and his team will be stationed in the US for about a month or so and complete a major portion of the film Viswaroopam there.

Amy Jackson pairing with Kamal in Viswaroopam!

Amy Jackson is the latest to join the cast list in Kamal Haasan much-awaited Viswaroopam. The film went on floors on the outskirts of Chennai recently. Since the film required a foreign actress, the producers have signed Amy Jackson, a British actress, for the role. Bollywood actor Rahul Bose is likely to play the villain in the film. Rahul is reportedly growing his beard to look perfect for the role. Apart from directing the film, Kamal has also penned its screenplay, dialogues and lyrics. Sources also confirm that Viswaroopam will be a trilingual being made simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Anushka will be Kamal’s heroine?

Looks like Kamal Haasan's 'heroine hunt' for 'Viswaroopam' has come to an end, as the Ulaganayagan, according to sources, has finally zeroed in on Anushka to play the female lead in the mega budget movie.

Directed by Kamal himself, 'Viswaroopam' initially had Sonakshi Sinha on-board. However, since the film's shoot got delayed, the Bollywood heroine opted out of the project, reportedly citing call-sheet reasons.

Then started a heroine hunt as well as a guessing game, with the media predicting a new actress's name every passing day. With no official confirmation from Kamal's side, the game intensified, resulting in many stories on 'Viswaroopam'.

Now it is said that Anushka has been roped in by Kamal, as he feels that the actress's popularity in south India would help the multilingual, which is to be simultaneously made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Sameera Reddy has been finalized to pair with Kamal Hassan!

While after finalising Sonakshi Sinha the movie which got delayed had to waste Sonakshi's dates and now been pushed to look for a new leading lady for the movie.

After many stories that Kamal has approached Isha Sherwani, Vidya Balan, Sonam Kapoor and even Deepika Padukone for the movie we now hear that Sameera Reddy has been finalized to play the lead.

Even 180 movie's heroine Priya Anand's name was doing the rounds but Kamal's close associated denied such stories.

Sexy Sam, who is working on Tamil movies Vettai, Vedi, is also doing a Hindi movie Tezz and we hear that the makers of Kamal Hassan's Vishwaroopam, who has turned the direcytor after Selvaraghvan's walkout has approached Sameera.

A source was reported to have told media, “Sameera Reddy has been approached by the makers recently to play a role in Viswaroopam. However, as the actress is busy shooting for Vettai and Vedi and Kamal is out of country, they haven’t yet got an opportunity to meet and discuss the movie. Once that happens, a clearer picture will emerge.”

We hear that the movie is on the lines of a spy thriller and that there will be two leading ladies in the movie. Well lets see if Kamal Hassan's search for his Bollywood girl gets zeroed down with Sameera.

Sonakshi Sinha opted out of Kamal Haasan's Viswaroopam!

A  Mumbai tabloid has come out with a story today (June 30) that Sonakshi Sinha has "opted out of Kamal Haasan's Viswaroopam"!

Sonakshi has opted out as her dates clashed with Prabhu Deva directed Akshay Kumar's Rowdy Rathod, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The newspaper reports- “The shooting for Viswaroopam was to start from the first week of June but the plan was squashed when director Selvaraghavan walked out of the project. Kamal then decided to take on the directorial reins but has yet to announce when filming will commence, which has perturbed Sonakshi."

A source close to Sonakshi is also quoted as saying -"Sonakshi was extremely professional, while explaining her case to Kamal . There is no animosity between Kamal Haasan and Sonakshi.""

The Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that Shriya Saran will be a part of Kamal Haasan's forthcoming Viswaroopam!

As per a source: "Sonakshi Sinha has been signed to play the main female lead in Viswaroopam. Shriya is likely to play the second heroine in the film and may be Kamal's love interest. The earlier director, Selvaraghavan, gave her a narration of her role and she liked it"

Shriya had been earlier signed to play a role in Kamal's Marmayogi and had even done a photo shoot for the film. And now that Kamal is directing Viswaroopam, Shreya stands a good chance to be part of the film.

Kamal Hassan’s ‘Viswaroopam’!

We had earlier told you that Selvaraghavan’s forthcoming ‘Viswaroopam’ failed to get their visas through for shooting in America. Following which, the team chose to shoot in Canada but looks like the visas for the team has been denied again!


Sources close to the crew suggest this may be due to the plot of the movie that might be based on cannibalism. Sources add that the movie is inspired from ‘The silence of lambs’ and its sequel, ‘Hannibal.’
Since the movie is a trilingual, in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, Kamal had suggested Selva to work with Shankar-Eshaan-Loy for scoring the music as the trio are the leading music directors up North.


Now the latest news abuzz is that, the team is traveling to London for a period of 35 days where the duet sequences between Kamal Hassan and Sonakshi Sinha and romance scenes between the duo will be shot.
While the crew is busy over their next schedule, Sonakshi is all smiles about the shoot since this would help her do away with the rumours that are spreading like wildfire about her all over Bollywood.

Kamal working hard for his next project!

Selvaraghavan has finally made it! He has got the green signal from Kamal Haasan to direct his next flick. It was reported earlier that Selva and Kamal had met a few days ago and discussed the possibility of working together. When Selva gave him a storyline, Kamal was so impressed that he agreed to it.

It is now said that Kamal has begun the groundwork for this Selva-directed flick. As a beginning, we hear that Kamal is hitting the gym everyday to tone up his physique for the role. Music will be scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja for this project, which is yet to be titled.

Kamal Hassan congratulates SPB

The film fraternity, in association with Raj TV Network, hosted a ceremony to congratulate noted singer SP Balasubramaniam on being bestowed with the Padma Bhushan award.

The event was attended by Kamal Haasan, who showered praises on SPB, and recalled the excellent rapport that he shared with him all through these years. Parthiban, Vivek and other actors were also present at the felicitation ceremony.
