The press release has that Singam 2 will have its Audio Launch done on the 2nd of June 2013. The audio launch will be a grand event which will happen at the Chennai Trade Centre Nandambakkam at 5pm.
Devi Sri Prasad has scored the music and the track list is expected to be a mix of peppy numbers and melodies like Singam.
Directed by Hari, the film is produced by S Lakshman Kumar under Prince Pictures. VT Vijayan is handling the edits, while the cinematography has been handled by Priyan.
The audio launch of Sequel to the blockbuster movie Singam has been delayed by a day to accommodate the list of celebrities.
Singam 2 will have Surya reprising the super cop rule of Duraisingam with Hansika Motwani, Anushka, Santhanam and Vivek making an ensemble cast.
The Audio launch will have Naan E fame Sudheep felicitating it. Sudheep also starred in the Kannada version of Singam so he will have a personal connect to the movie. If all goes to the plan, then Ajay Devgan who reprised Surya‘s role in Bollywood will also be attending the function.
The makers are trying double the time to rope in Ajay as well. It’s to be noted that Singham in Hindi was a blockbuster and the movie crossed the prestigious 100 crore mark.
Of course it will have prominent celebrities from Kollywood in attendance.
Nayantara, the busy bee of South Indian films, is carefully choosing her films. The actress is acting in multiple projects in different industries. The latest piece of news to hear on her is that Nayan, who had earlier worked with the 7aam Arivu star in Aadhavan and Ghajini, will be doing an item number in Surya's upcoming movie Singam 2.
Rumours are rife that Nayantara has been approached by the makers of Singam 2 for the special number in the movie. The early buzz says that she has not signed on the dotted lines, but the actress has given her verbal consent. It is said that Hari was the director, who introduced the 26-year-old girl to Tamil cinema in Ayya. It is this reason, which has made the actress to agree to give a nod for the item number.
However, Singam 2, which is a sequel to Singam, also stars Anushka Shetty and Hansika Motwani in the lead roles. The movie produced by KE Gnanavel Raja will hit the screens next summer.
Actor Surya is one among the Kollywood stars who enjoys good reception for his films in Andhra Pradesh. Most of Surya's films have done decnet business at the Telugu box-office, hence it is no surprise that the megabudget film Maattrraan will be released in Telugu as well.
The Telugu version of the film has been titled 'Brothers' which was earlier titled 'Duplicate'. The interesting bit of the news is that, Surya will be dubbing in his own voice for the Telugu version too. This fact will surely rise up the price of the film's Telugu distribution rights.
Kajal Agarwal is also a happening star in Kollywood as she has worked with big boys like Mahesh Babu, Prabhas and Jr NTR. Considering all these features under one package, Maatraan is sure to do great business in Telugu.
The film has been planned for release on the 12th of October in Tamil and Telugu. Maattrraan has Harris Jayaraj's music, S Sounder Rajan's cinematography, Anthony's editing and writer duo Subha's dialogues.
Vijay and Surya are working on their mega-budget projects Thuppakki and Maatraan respectively. Both the films have equal amount of hype as the technical crew involved in these projects are of top quality.
AR Murugadoss' Thuppakki is shooting in Pune and has got only a few songs sequences left. The official sources have said that the movie will be released on August 15. On the other hand KV Anand's Maatraan is eying a release on the same day.
Feeling the heat or to beat the heat of Maatrran clashing with Thuppakki, director AR Murugadoss has tweeted “Baby go farther and play”. This has created a buzz in Kollywood doubting whether the directo had mocked Surya's Maatraan as 'Baby'.
Both AR Murugadoss and KV Anand have proved themselves as masters of fast-paced screenplay and delivering a thoughtful message with a punch. Let us wait to see whose got the potential to win the race.
Surya and director Gautham Vasudev Menon unites after a gap of four years for Thuppariyum Anandhan. The film which Kick-started long time back had plans of roping in Kamal Hassan, later Ajith and then news also had that the crew has plans to have Vijay on board.
But now finally its Surya who has bagged the role. After playing a successful cop role in Kakha Kakha and a challenging dual role in Vaaranam Aayiram, Surya will now be playing a detective for Thuppariyum Anandhan. The film will kick start by early 2013.
Surya after completing Singham 2 ( in which he plays the police Duraisingham) and when Gautham completes Yohan with Vijay, this project will roll out states the press release from Photon Kathas.
Surya about bagging the offer said, “When Gautham and I come together, people expect romance, great songs and action.”
Gautham Menon told, “I am really excited that Suriya has come on board to do Thuppariyum Anandhan with me. This will be an action adventure in a contemporary styled period film. All cliches associated with making a period film will be broken with this effort.”
Interestingly, a theory which is doing the rounds is that Surya has always delivered hits, when he was approached for a role rejected by other heroes (read Ajith). For example, Surya's debut movie Nerukku Ner in which Surya's role was first offered to Ajith alongside Vijay and Gautham Menon's Kakha Kakha that was initially offered to Ajith & Vikram. Both films went on to become hit.
Even AR Murugadoss's Ghajini ( which kick started in the name of Mirattal), was initially offered to Ajith, who had earlier worked with him for Dheena. This movie too spelt huge success not just in Tamil but also in Hindi as well.
Well with such a theory behind it, we expect Thuppariyum Anandhan to be a hit!
What with 4 consecutive hit films in his profile, announcement on Venkat Prabhu's next is being anticipated with nothing less than bated breath. Last heard, Venkat Prabhu is writing script for his next film which will have Suriya in the lead.
It's also speculated that Studio Green will be producing the film. Suriya's Maatraan is nearing completion and by then Venkat Prabhu is likely to have a script ready for narration. An announcement will be out after that, a source close to the director mentioned.
Maatraan’s release date has been put off to June, say sources. The film was touted to be a Tamil New Year’s release but with the delay in the commencement of the post-production work, the release date has been pushed to June.
Suriya and Kajal Agarwal play the lead pair in Matraan, which is directed by KV Anand. Sachin Khedekar plays the villain. The film has been shot extensively in Russia and is said to have some great visuals. Harris Jayaraj is scoring the music for Maatraan.
Singam 2, the hugely awaited sequel to Singam with the same Suriya and Hari team has been dropped. Apparently, some difficulties cropped up and the project was scrapped. Suriya and Hari have agreed to work together in future if something suitable comes along.
In the meantime, Hari has decided to go ahead and make a film with Vishal. The script has been finalized and Hari is anxious to get started with his Sandakozhi hero.
Suriya's fan base is constantly expanding. His latest film 7aum Arivu has done tremendous business in Kerala and there is a huge craze for him there. His fans were pleasantly surprised when he was present as a special guest at the Kerala State Awards. Kerala Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy and other ministers of state were also seen.
The audience went wild when Suriya came on stage. Director Priyadharshan, Dilip, Salim Kumar, and Kavya Madhavan were some of the celebs spotted at this event.
Suriya's Maatraan is aiming at an early 2012 release, in the month of April to be precise. Anand, who has earlier had a blockbuster with Suriya, is leaving no stones unturned to ensure that the movie does not skip its release schedule. Shooting of this action thriller is being held in Chennai, after a brief schedule in Moscow, Russia making it one of the very few Indian movies to shoot there.
Maatraan has Kajal Aggarwal playing Suriya's lead. Made at a whopping budget and produced by AGS Entertainment, Maatraan will have Harris Jayaraj's music.
If trade sources are to be believed, production company AGS is well on its way to sell the domestic rights of Maatraan for a whopping Rs. 80 Crores. With the overseas and Telugu rights already sold for Rs. 12 and 17 crores respectively, it's time to talk business in the domestic front. If the Rs. 80 crores news is true, Maatraan will become the first movie to inch close to Endhiran, which did a business of Rs. 100 crores.
K V Anand has already become a bankable director what with his two films Ayan and Ko reaping commercial success in quick succession. Maatraan is shot in Russia and will have Suriya, Kajal Aggarwal playing lead roles.
Tall beauty Anushka Shetty is likely to pair opposite Surya for the second time. Director Hari himself has confirmed that Anushka Shetty will be romancing Surya in his next film, but had not made it clear whether the movie is the second installment of Singam.
The hype is just not over with this bit of information as the search for another heroine is going on as per the script's demands. The initial buzz stated that Amala Paul was the first choice for Hari to cast opposite Surya but the actress is quite busy with Elred Kumar's 'Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal' and a movie in Telugu.
It is said that, after analyzing her performances in her previous films, Hari has approached director Lingusamy and asked him to show some of the bits Amala Paul's performance in her upcoming movie 'Vettai'.
It would be interesting to see Amala Paul and Anushka together once again after 'Deiva Thirumagal'. However, the director had clarified that Amala Paul has not yet been finalized yet as the talks are still on.
There was a call to ban 7aum Arivu in Sri Lanka because the film had some dialogues on the lack of Tamil liberation movement. This created uproar in Sri Lanka and there was call to ban the film.
Following this opposition, the producer of 7aum Arivu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, decided to delete the offending scenes so that it would not hurt the film’s success in that country. The protestors are now contended that the dialogues have been removed and have allowed the film to be screened.
7aum Arivu stars Suriya and Shruti Haasan in the lead. AR Murugadoss has directed this film which has music by Harris Jayraj.
Rajinikanth reportedly made it to the special show of 7aum Arivu. The Superstar praised the efforts of Suriya and said that it was an excellent film. Producer Udhayanidhi Stalin has said that the Superstar liked the movie and particularly appreciated Suriya for his hard work.
When asked about the first day collections, Udhayanidhi had said that 7aum Arivu’s collection is slightly lesser than that of the Rajinikanth starrer Endhiran which shows that the Superstar still rocks!
7aum Arivu had a massive opening on Diwali day and has received some good reviews so far.
