Kollywood is in a kiss and tell mood. Actually it is a kissing boom in tinsel town. Lip lock between the lead pair in Tamil films is the latest publicity boost for films. Recently the makers of Manjal Veyil, Kulir 100 degree, Thoranai, Sarvvam, Brahmadeva and Laadam hyped the kissing scenes in their films. Meanwhile a dozen other films under production have “hot lip locks” like , Kanthasamy, Mutthirai, Adhe Neram Adhe Idam, Bayaam Ariyaan, Sarithram, Kutty etc. Please note that these so called ‘kiss and tell’ is a soft peck on the lips, which you would miss if you wink! In Kanden Kadhalai, Tamannaah kisses Bharath on his cheeks and forehead but not on his lips!
Mutthirai director Srinath, who initially claimed that there is a kissing scene between Nitin Sathya and Manjari Fadnis, had to play it down after the actress denied the kiss! So now, as a part of the promotion it is being said that there are 10 kisses in one song between Lakshmi Rai and Daniel Balaji! Srinath is quoted in an interview in a Tamil paper saying: “There is a song in the film where Daniel kisses Lakshmi eight times and she kisses him back twice. Both the artist was cool about it and was very cooperative.” It looks like the kiss is here to stay as the filmmakers feel it is the best way to get an opening for their films in these hard recession hit days.
