IN Entertainment (INE), the company that is jointly presenting and producing Ajith's movie Billa 2, along with Suresh Balaje and George Pius led Wide Angle Creations, has confirmed that Parvathy Omanakuttan will be the female lead role in Billa 2.
Billa 2 will mark Parvathy's entry into Tamil Cinema. Parvathy, who is currently based in Mumbai, hails from Kerala and obtained a direct entry into the Femina Miss India 2008 finals, after winning the crown at the Miss India South 2008 competition. She went on to win the Miss India World title while bagging the sub-titles of Miss Photogenic, Miss Personality and Miss Beautiful Hair en route, and carried on to make India proud by becoming the First Runner-Up at the Miss World 2008 competition. In a statement confirming her role in the film, Parvathy has said, "It is like a dream to be making my debut in the Tamil film industry with Ajith Sir. I am delighted to be a part of the Billa franchise and can't wait to start work on the film." Earlier, Huma was signed up to play the principal lead actress role in Billa 2, but she opted out due to some delays in the shooting schedule and a clash of dates with her other projects.
The unit of Billa 2 completed the first 30-day schedule of shooting in Hyderabad and Vizag between July-August. The second schedule has commenced this week in Goa, and will continue for 45 days will the first fortnight of November. Thereafter the unit will head to Georgia in Eastern Europe for the final schedule. The film is expected to complete the principal shooting by the first fortnight of December and the makers have planned an April 2012 release. Watch this space for more updates on Billa 2!
