Simbu don’t want to give importance!

Silambarasan is in no mood to grab unnecessary attention by reacting to statements made by his colleauges like Bharath and Jiiva.

In fact both the stars lashed out at STR in recent press meets, with Jiiva even calling him a “back stabber”.

STR he said: “I think only insecure people try to do back biting and grab attention by making unwarranted sensational statements and I don’t want to give undue importance to them by commenting on what they said about me”

The star has completed work on Osthi in Mysore and is all amused about the attention that the film and the famous Munni song is getting.

STR says: “Everyday there is something written about the Munni song. I read reports stating that Nayanthara is doing the song and on the same day another paper reports that Katrina Kaif is doing the item number! This will be a new song and the truth is that music director Thaman is yet to compose the tune. It will be a fast peppy song and the set is getting ready in Chennai. The girl who will be doing the song along with me and Sonu Sood is yet to be finalised”

Osthi which is now snapped by Reliance is now complete and the makers are planning to release it for Diwali. Recently, a song Neduveli... was shot (see pic) in a set resembling a police station with STR, Richa and dancers choreographed by Robert.

Simbu’s dad buys ‘Vaanam’ rights

Dhayanidhi Alagiri’s Cloud Nine Movies may release ‘Vaanam’ all over the world. But the film’s Chennai distribution rights have been bagged by STR’s father Vijaya T Rajendar.

“Silambarasan’s home banner Kural TV Creations will distribute ‘Vaanam’ in Chennai region. There is no specific reason behind this decision as this is the case for most Simbu movies,” say sources.

Meanwhile, Simbu has issued a warning to his online fans, urging them not to criticise any other actor. This announcement comes in the wake of his fans thanking him for not acting in ‘Ko’, which according to them had little scope for the protagonist.

‘I have great respect for my colleagues in the industry. I will not allow my fans to talk bad about anyone. It is not fair to leave harsh comments on a public forum like the world wide web,” he said.

Shankar dragged to the court

kadhal1

Seems like an old ghost is coming back to haunt Shankar and director Balaji Sakthivel, the hit-maker director of Kadhal. The director of St. Joseph School Ms. Jeyarani has lodged a complaint against the producer and director of Kadhal mentioning that since the movie was told to be a real-life story, the parents of the school children assumed that the school was also part of the incidents happened. This trigged anxious enquiries from the parents ruining the peace of the school and its director.

The school is claiming Rs. 20 lakh in compensation for the anxiety caused in this regard. Besides, the petition also alleges that the school was shown in the movie without proper permission from the school authorities. The case has been postponed to August 9, 2009 on which date Shankar and Balaji Sakthivel are asked to appear in the court to provide their part of the argument.
