Meera Jasmine to quit movies soon!

National award winning actress Meera Jasmine, who has garnered over 35 awards in her filmi career of 10 years for her impressive performances in some of the best super hits in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, is likely to quit movies soon.

One of the reasons behind her retirement from movies is said to be her upcoming marriage with her long time beau Mandolin Rajesh. Mandolin Rajesh, who belongs to an orthodox Hindu family in Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, announced in October 2010 that he would marry the actress in 2011.

Another reason is her back-to-back debacles. The actress had a string of flops in Malayalam in the last two years: Minnaminikootam, Calcutta News, Ore Kadal, Pattinte Palazhi and Mohabbat. Her recent Tamil films Pen Singam and Ilanjian were too colossal flops. The buzz is that due to the failure of her films at the box office, no producer is willing to sign her up, forcing her to quit films.

Meera Jasmine had a pleasant surprise

February 17, 2010: Meera Jasmine was in for a pleasant surprise recently. The actress, whose birthday is on February 15th, had no idea that a surprise party would be thrown for her.

The unit of ‘Pattinte Palazhy’ (the film that Meera is currently working on) threw a surprise birthday party for her. They got her a cake which she then cut and shared with the team. Apparently, her beau Rajesh was present there too.

Well, hope Meera had a great birthday!

It seems that Meera Jasmine’s bad luck in films is creeping up into her private life also. The latest rumour is that Meera’s fiance mandolin artist U. Rajesh has secretly married a woman named Santhi. This gossip has stunned the film world and Meera alike. She seems to be tired with these controversies surrounding her life ever since she started her career.

U. Rajesh, in a telephonic interview published in a Kerala daily, has strongly denied the allegations. "It is nothing by rumours spread by our enemies. All persons in the field have to face such type of gossips. It is true that our marriage will be only after some time, but we will surely marry. I believe Meera understands me. There is no problem between us," Rajesh said.

Meera Jasmine in glamour role with reema

Kollywood homely actress Meera Jasmine ,in one of her new Telugu films titled as ’Yamagola’ directed by Srinivasa Reddy.In which she has made a special appearance in a song sequence along with Reema Sen who plays a cabaret dancer in the movie. In fact, this song was full of glamour.

People who saw the film say that Meera Jasmine was so glamorous that she even overshadowed Reema Sen! It is also said that the Censor Board had to use its scissors to cut 32 shots from the song. Now it is the turn of Tamil audiences to get enamoured by these two divas dancing together in one song, since this Telugu film is now being dubbed in Tamil as Indraloka Ilavarasan.

This comedy entertainer tells the story of a a celestial prince, who has affairs with the three heavenly beauties Ramba, Urvasi and Menaka. He comes back to earth without the knowledge of Indran on a mission. The so-called prince meets a cabaret dancer Reema Sen in a club. Seduced by her beauty and glamour, he falls in love with her and is embroiled in a messy situation when he continues his relationship with her.And this movie will hit screens in July in 16 theatres. Maybe it will come to Malayalam soon!

Meera Jasmine net movie with Captain

Kollywood actor, Captain Vijaykanth will be collaborating with Vikraman after a long gap of 10 years. Now Vikraman is in discussion along with his associates developing a suitable family story for Vijaykanth. Meera Jasmine will play Vijaykanth’s heroine in this movie. This is the first time that Meera will be acting with Vijaykanth.

Vijayakanth and Vikraman earlier have teamed up and gave the blockbuster Vanathai Pola for Aascar Ravichandiran. Now T Shiva of Amma Creations is bringing both the great personalities together.

Vikraman says, "After I struck with an idea to make a complete family oriented movie with ingredients for the present generation, I conveyed the same to Shiva.
