Our ‘Thalai’ Ajith is passing through tough times following his “controversial speech” at Pasa Thalaivanukku Parattu Vizha felicitation function for Chief Minister M Karunanidhi held on February 6.
Ajith had the guts to say that there were seniors in the industry who forced him and others to compulsorily attend events organized on sensitive political and social issues. After Ajith’s speech Rajinikanth got up and clapped in appreciation and hailed him as a hero for his honesty and courage in speaking his mind at the function.
This stirred a hornet’s nest within the industry, as they felt they were slighted and wanted Ajith to tender an apology. Rajinikanth’s support enabled the star to sail through without an apology.
However the industry bigwigs wanted to take some action against Ajith. Once again Rajinikanth came to his rescue and met Chief Minister Karunanidhi on Thursday morning and tried to sort out the issue. Rajini told the waiting newsmen that he had come to thank the CM for attending his daughter Soundarya’s engagement!
Actually Rajini paved way for Ajith’s meet with the CM. Four hours later the star smartly dressed in a suit had a 20 minute chit chat with Karunanidhi. This set to rest the speculation that the CM was upset with the star.
After his all important meeting with the CM, Ajith looked far more composed and cool. The actor told the newsmen waiting outside the CM’s residence in Gopalapuram: “ It was a courtesy call and CM was very cordial and he did not raise any queries.”
Meanwhile stunt director ‘Jaguar’ Thankam’s car was damaged allegedly by Ajith fans for giving a “vitriolic interview against the star to a Tamil weekly.” There was a move to frame-up the star, but Ajith denied having anything to do with the incident
