Happy birthday Suriya!
Surya who celebrates his birthday today is more than happy about how life has taken him so far both professionally and personally.
Surya who is gearing for the release of his 7aam Arivu movie where he has once again team up with AR Murugadoss, will be busy shooting with KV Anand for Matraan on his birthday which is today.
We hear that though he does not have any big plans for his big day, he says he would finish his shoot today and go home spend time with his family in the evening. The actor who was busy with his brother Karthi's Wedding all these days his now back with his professional work and is shooting in Chennai for Matraan.
About his birthday plans he reveals, “The shoot of K V Anand’s Maatran has kicked off in Chennai. So, I’ll be spending major portion of my day on the sets of the film. In the evening though, I will take off to spend some time with my family.”
Surya says he has some big plans chalked out for the year. He adds, “I can’t talk much about it now, but I might venture into something before my next birthday that I think I’ll be proud of. In fact, I’m working out on the feasibility of the projects currently and will make it official as soon as that’s done.”
Surya plays exciting roles in his upcoming movies. In 7aam Arivu is plays a circus artist, a Buddhist monk and for Maatraan we heard that he will be playing dual role and we get to see a younger fitter Surya than Vaaranam Aayiram.
About how his 7aam Arivu has shaped and how lucky and fortunate for him to play these different roles for his movies, excitedly Surya adds, “It’s a big leap for the team that worked on Ghajini. In the film, we’ve broken some stereotypes that we associate Tamil cinema with and have tried out a new grammar in filmmaking. I’m lucky to have got two very interesting films backto-back.”

Nayanthara denies the rumours!
For the past few months, there was widespread speculation that actress Nayantara is all set to quit films. Rumours of her retirement from films started when she declined several film offers from leading directors in Tamil and Telugu. She recently completed shooting for her Telugu film Sri Rama Rajyam, starring Balakrishna, and on the last day of the shoot, she got emotional on the sets. The unit members showered flowers on the actress to express their gratitude. Nayan couldn't control her tears and broke down.
But the actress has now denied these reports."When did I announce that I'm quitting?" she reportedly said. Nayan also explained that she has nothing to say; that is the reason for her silence. With Prabhu Deva's divorce, all eyes are now on Prabhu-Nayan's wedding date.
Ranjitha dances for Nityananda!
News come from Bangalore that even before the memory of the meeting Nityananda and Ranjitha had with media persons in Chennai, Ranjitha danced for Nityananda.
Nityananda has his ashram in Bidar near Bangalore. Every year, celebrations used to happen there on the auspicious day of Gurupurnima. This year too celebrations on Gurupurnima day began with several events at 7.30 in the morning that lasted through the night. Nityananda participated in all the events. He was seated on his throne and blessed the devotees. His followers made him up to look like the deity in the temples.
Some devotees garlanded him with giant size garlands and received his blessings. Ranjitha also participated in the events. After doing puja to Nityananda she bowed before him when he touched her head and blessed her. He also blessed the women of the ashram who did puja to him.Later Nityananda taught Kundalini yoga exercise to the devotees. Ranjitha got up suddenly and started to dance and several women joined her. Many women rolled on the floor. Seated on his throne Nityananda was enjoying the whole show. He was visibly thrilled at some dancing women. Talking about Kundalini exercise, he said that the every person has the kundalini power and the exercise is to make it active.

Nanban august release!
Contrary to earlier reports that Shankar's Nanban will grace theatres during this Christmas, the latest buzz is that the director is planning to release it by August end. Nanban, remake of the Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots, has Vijay, Srikanth and Jiiva in the lead roles; S.J. Suryah will play the role of Chatur (Omi Vaidya), Ileana D'Cruz will appear in the role played by Kareena Kapoor, and Sathyaraj will appear as the insensitive professor Virus, which was played by Boman Irani. The movie will be released in Telugu as 3 Rascals. Harris Jayaraj has already started composing music for this film, which will reportedly have its grand music launch soon!
7aam Arivu music end of this month!
The music of director A.R. Murugadoss' 7aam Arivu, which has Suriya and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles, will be launched in Chennai by the end of this month. The director is currently busy with the post production works. Confirming this news, music director Harris Jayaraj tweeted, "7aam Arivu will be launched by the end of the month!" The story is said to revolve around a time machine which is brought to India by a scientist. The film is also being dubbed in Hindi and Telugu.
7aam Arivu is a sci-fi thriller in which Suriya plays a triple role: a circus artist, Buddhist monk and a scientist. Vietnamese stunt actor Johnny Tri Nguyen will play the baddie. Ravi K. Chandran handles the camera.
Karthi back to his work
Guess where is Karthi Sivakumar now? He is in Austria, enjoying the honeymoon trip with his wife Ranjani. "He will be back in Chennai soon and start working for 'Saguni' from July 26," say circles close to him.
"After spending some days with his family members and at his in-laws' place, Karthi left for Austria with Ranjani recently. The one-week honeymoon trip is getting over and he will be back to India in a few days," they say.
"Karthi has a couple of professional tasks on his return. One is to take part in the shoot of his forthcoming film 'Saguni'. And the other is to promote 'Naa Peru Shiva', the Telugu dubbing version of 'Naan Mahan Alla'," sources further say.
Karthi tied the knot with Ranjani in Coimbatore on July 3. He later hosted a grand reception in Chennai on July 7, in which prominent faces of film and political worlds took part. Later Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa visited the young couple at their home and greeted them.

Rajinikanth’s Rana will begin in October
Soon after his arrival, all Rajini fans are eager to know when Rana would take off. Sources close to Rajinikanth say that Rana will commence in October and until then the Superstar will take rest at his Kelambakkam farm house.
Only very close friends and dignitiaries will be allowed to meet Rajini as he needs complete rest for the next couple of months in order to get ready for Rana. It is said that he will hold discussions with director KS Ravi Kumar at this farm house.
Rana is a historic flick and a major portion of it will be shot in foreign countries.
Rajinikanth to chill out at his Kelambakkam farmhouse!
Superstar Rajinikanth who is back from Singapore on Wednesday night after medical treatment is going to chill out at his farm house in Kelambakkam about 40 kilometres from his Poes Garden residence.
Sources close to the superstar have confirmed that he will take total rest for the next two months in Kelambakkam. He wants to be fighting fit by October when he plans to resume the shoot of his KS Ravikumar directed Rana.
Rajini has told close friends like Telugu star Mohan Babu and Amitabh Bachchan that he intends to take total rest.
He will not be entertaining any guests at his farm house during this period.
There is already a heavy security cover provided by TN police and fans have also been told not 'to disturb' Thalaivar.
Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara together visits Guruvayur!
The couple has been in the news for quite some time. After the grant of divorce to Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara’s completion of her last film, Sri Rama Rajyam, the couple is all set to get married soon, may be in the month of August.
The couple was seen in Guruvayur town recently. Both of them visited the famous Guruvayur temple, while Prabhu Deva went inside the temple Nayanthara waited outside sitting in a car. Since Nayanthara is a Christian by birth she could not go inside the temple as the temple does not allow non-hindus inside its premises.
Prabhu Deva after praying at the main Sanctorum offered plantain shoots at the Thulabaram.
After Prabhu Deva’s prayers, both left the temple by car. It is said that the couple had plans to visit Nayan’s hometown also.
The couple will be back in Chennai soon.

Nayanthara politely refused Simbu’s offer!
One of the highlights of Salman Khan's Dabangg was the Munni Badnam Hui, the item song picturised on Malaika Arora.
Even the balm mentioned in the song had record sales. Now Silambarasan and director Dharani who are remaking Dabangg in Tamil as Osthi, are all out trying to rope in a big actress to do the item number.
The grapevine has it that STR and Dharani talked to Nayanthara to make one last "farewell item number" appearance and was willing to pay her what she would get to do a full film!
However Nayanthara, politely refused as she wanted Sri Rama Rajyam to be her last release, before she called it a day.
The latest we hear is that STR and Dharani are talking to Zarine Khan (girl who did Ready item number with Salman and is Vikram's heroine in Karikalan) and Malaika Arora.
A list of 'usual suspects' like Shriya Saran, Mumaith Khan and Meghna Naidu is also being considered.
Great news for Rajinikanth’s fans
There is great news for all the fans out there who have been worrying themselves sick about Rajini's health. The Superstar will be back in Chennai on the 13th of this month. That is the day after tomorrow! He will be on Singapore Airlines and will reach Chennai by 10.45 pm. His family including daughter Aishwariya Dhanush will be returning with him.
All the prayers of the fans have worked it seems, for the doctors have given him a clean bill of health and said that he is fully recovered from his ailment. It is safe for him to return home. It is also expected that he will be back on the sets of Rana by September if not sooner.
Suriya’s 7am Arivu wrap party
A couple of days back we have reported that Suriya has completed the shoot of 7am Arivu. On the completion of the shoot 7am Arivu producer Udhayanidhi Stalin has hosted a party for the entire cast and crew of the film.
Suriya, Udhayanidhi Stalin, AR Murugadoss, Ravi K Chandran and all others had a great time at the wrap up party and celebrated the successful completion of the film. According to the sources it is known that Suriya and Udhayanidhi has stayed back until the party was over. Not only that they have interacted with each and everyone who were present at the party. The film is currently under post production stages and the director of the film A R Murugadoss is totally involved in this process. The team and the director are not ready to reveal a single aspect of 7am Arivu.
After 7am Arivu AR Murugadoss is going to do his next project with Vijay and the working title of the film is Maalai Neram Mazhaithuli. Suriya I going to join the sets of Maatraanfrom July 22nd directed by K V Anand.
Vijay’s Velayudham audio launch on july 21!
Ilayathalapathy Vijay's forthcoming flick 'Velayudham' is slated for an August 2011 release and the Kollywood grapevine now has it that this superhero sort of a movie, will see an audio launch, later this month, at July 21.
Although there�s no official word on this yet, the audio of this film, set by Vijay Antony, will be unveiled on July 21.
The film is directed by M Raja of 'Jayam' fame and is produced by Aascar Films. It stars Vijay, Hansika and Genelia in the lead roles, where Hansika plays Vijay's love interest, Genelia plays a television reporter. It is said that Hansika and Santhanam will take care of the comedy element in this film.
Rajinikanth phoned Deepika Padukone!
South Indian superstar Rajinikanth is currently in Singapore for rest and recuperation, yet he is very keen on his upcoming project Rana.
Reports said that the actor is making calls to all the cast and crew of Rana, including director K.S. Ravikumar and lyricist Vairamuthu, to know about the updates of the pre-production work.
In the latest report, Rajinikanth phoned Deepika Padukone and asked her to adjust her call sheets for Rana, which is expected to commence in September.
Deepika was thrilled to hear from him and is said to have assured him that she would adjust her call sheets for Rana, which has been delayed due to Rajni's ill health.
CM J Jayalalitha wishes Karthi and Ranjani!
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha was at Siva Kumar’s residence to wish his newly married son Karthi and daughter-in-law Ranjani. The CM could not make it to the wedding and reception due to her prior commitments and hence decided to visit their home.
Siva Kumar and wife Lakshmi along with elder son Suriya and daughter-in-law Jyothika welcomed the CM. Ms Jayalalitha spent sometime with the newlyweds and enquired about their wedding and reception.
Ministers Sengottaiyan and O Paneerselavam also visited their residence to wish Karthi and Ranjani.
