Actress Trisha was rich even before she started to act. She got into the film industry just as a hobby.Before she got famous she acted in many films as a sister or a silent friend of the heroine. But even before that she acted in TV series that did not do well. Makkal TV got the rights to screen these old TV series on their channel.
Trisha however is pleading the producer not to air them. As to why Trisha doesn’t want to air it is not know. But a good guess is that her acting skills might not be great as now after experience and end up as a feast for people’s humour. After ‘Padikkadhavan’ it’s now ‘Pokkiri Raja’
The craze for Rajinikanth’s film titles seems to have gripped Dhanush firmly.
After ’Polladhavan’ and ’Padikkaadhavan’, it now seems Dhanush has christened his next film as ’Pokkiri Raja’. The movie to be produced by Raj TV marks the entry of cinematographer R. D. Rajasekar as director.
Raj TV is producing a couple of movies including ’Magane Marumagane’ and ’Kadhal Na Summa Illai’.
Dhanush is slated to act in ’Idhu Malai Nerathu Mayakkam’ soon which will be directed by his brother Selvaraghavan and is also doing a cameo in ’Aayirathil Oruvan’.
Priyamani thrilled to the core
National-award winning actress Priyamani says she is happy to shoot for ’Arumugham’ alongside Bharath.
Speaking about the film, she says, ’I am enjoying every bit of my association with ’Arumugham’.
On Bharath, Priyamani says, ’ he is a phenomenal actor. He is cool and co-operative in the sets’.
Though Priyamani’s list of favorite actors is quite long, Kamal Haasan and Sridevi top the list. ’They are my idols. Eversince I was a kid, I’ve kept these two as a benchmark for acting. For me they are the most talented screen pair in cinema,’ she says.
Nayantara,Karthi in Paiya
Director Lingusamy has thrashed all rumours that actress Nayantara is no longer part of his pet project Paiya, saying that Nayan is very much part of the project. The hero is Karthi, who is currently busy with Ayirathil Oruvan directed by Selvaraghavan. Karthi has disclosed that as soon as he winds up Ayirathil Oruvan, he will start shooting for Paiya.
Nayantara is basking in the glory of being known as the queen of South India and her hands are full with big budget projects. Karthi, on the other hand, is very careful in choosing films after his highly successful debut in Paruthiveeran. The film brought him fame, accolades and honours. He garnered the Filmfare Best Actor award and was nominated for the National Award (Best Actor) for his stunning performance in the film. Apart from Paiya, he has also signed another film, Neeyum Naanum.
Rajini Perai Kettale.. launched
Superstar’s name itself is enough to draw crowds at any function or movie hall. But his name drew in a galaxy of stars from Kollywood as well, at a well attended function at The Savera hotel on Sunday.
The occasion was the launch of Dr Gayatri Srikanth’s biography titled Rajini Perai Kettale.. in Tamil. The writer, an eye doctor, has already sold 20,000 copies of the book in English (titled “The Name is Rajinikanth”) and this is the Tamil version, which however has more details and well-editing than the original.
Hosted by Dr Duraiswami Hospitals, The Savera and Om Books International (the publishers), the event was attended by Kanimozhi MP who launched the book. Also present on the dais were Nina Reddy of Savera, cartoonist Madhan, SP Muthuraman and Ajay Mago of Om Books and Dr Srikanth.
The event saw a galaxy of speakers from Sivakumar, Srikanth, P Vasu, Narain, Chinmayi, Sandhya, director Vijay, Sampath Raj, Keerthi Chawla, Delhi Ganesh and others.
Actor Vijay’s mother Shobha Chandrasekar sang the invocation song. SP Muthuraman and Madhan congratulated the writer on her great effort and research while Kanimozhi MP wanted her to undertake a project to write a detailed, academic study of Rajini’s films. She said that the book is well-researched, simple in language and lot of hard work has gone into it.
All the speakers were wonderstruck with the fact that an eye doctor had the talent to write a book and spend more than a year of her life researching for the book and giving up her practice for it.
Dr Gayathri thanked her husband Dr Srikanth, (also an eye doctor) for his active help and encouragement during the entire period. The emcee for the evening was Bosskey who kept the audiences regaled with his wits on current affairs.
