Entire Kavalkaran team goes to Malaysia!

Vijay and the unit of his Kavalkaran flew to Malaysia on Friday night for a one week shoot of the film.

As per our sources director Siddique will be shooting a song and part of an action scene there, for this remake of the Malayalam hit Bodyguard.

Kavalkaran has been embroiled in controversies. First a battle is raging between the Malayalam producer of the original Johnny Sagarika and director Siddique over the remake rights.

Then Asin shooting in Sri Lanka for Hindi film Ready with Salman Khan has piqued Kollywood industry.

The issue is likely to snowball with Radha Ravi saying a meeting of Nadigar Sangam would be called to discuss it.

Nayanthara is back in Bangalore

Nayanthara who was shooting in Switzerland for Boss Engira Bhaskaran is back on the sets of her Kannada film.

The Arya- Nayanthara starrer Boss Engira Bhaskaran directed by Rajesh with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is hot in the trade.

It is Nayanthara’s last release in Tamil, as the actress has not signed any new films, though offers are pouring in.

Recently she said ‘No’ to her good friend director Siddique who offered her a chance to be Salman Khan’s heroine in the Hindi remake of her Malayalam hit Bodyguard!

The romantic light hearted comedy Boss Engira Bhaskaran is shaping up well and two songs were recently shot in Switzerland.

Arya the hero of the film is so confident about the film that he brought all the rights from its original producer.

Nayan is completing the last schedule of her first Kannada biggie with Upendra and soon the unit will fly to London to can a few important scenes and songs.

DHANUSH NAME THEIR SON

Rajinikanth’s daughter and Dhanush’s wife Aishwarya delivered a male baby a few days ago. The naming ceremony for the new born was held yesterday at the Superstar’s residence without much fanfare. The boy is named Linga. On choosing the name, Dhanush said that being a devotee of lord Shiva, he chose the name.

Those present during the naming ceremony were Rajinikanth, his wife Latha and Dhanush’s parents along with their family members.

Trisha’s mom say yes to Kamal

It's all happening for Kamal Haasan. Many directors tried to persuade Uma Krishnan, the beautiful mother of Trisha Krishnan to act in films but the lady politely turned away all the offers saying daughter's career first.

Even the biggie PL Thenappan asked her once and she refused. Director Radha Mohan tried for the mother role in 'Abhiyum Naanum'. But now Uma Krishnan could not say no to Kamal Haasan. Reliable sources say Uma Krishnan has agreed to do a cameo in Kamal's 'Manmathan Ambu' which largely filmed in a luxury cruise.

The team is already in Europe for the first schedule. ‘Manmadhan Ambu’ stars Kamal Haasan, Madhavan, Trisha and Sangeetha in main roles.

Vidhya Balan upset with Priyamani

Sources in Bollywood say that Priyamani’s cousin and actress Vidya Balan feels that Priyamani should’ve opted for a full-fledged role for her Bollywood entry rather than a cameo.

The actress was reportedly upset that her cousin chose a role that was not even akin to a second heroine. However, with Priyamani being appreciated by the media for her role in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, Vidya should be satisfied that her sister made the right decision.

It is worth mentioning here that Vidya had starred in Mani Ratann’s Guru a couple of years ago, the film in which Aishwarya Rai played the female lead.

Suriya’s elephant ride

The shooting of Ezham Arivu took place at the Ampa Skywalk in Chennai recently and the unit moved on to Besant Nagar for another set of shots. The cast and crew, including Suriya, Shruti Haasan and director AR Murugadoss were spotted on the streets of Besant Nagar. And in the sets was another attraction – an elephant.

The elephant was roped in to for a scene in which Suriya would ride on it. The actor was seen riding the elephant with ease much to the amazement of the crowd that had gathered there.

Ajith with Anushka in Mangatha

The Ultimate Star will act in ‘Mangatha’ with Anushka as the heroine!

Anushka made her debut in Tamil films with ‘Rendu.’ She also acted in ‘Vettaikaran’ with Vijay and in ‘Singam’ with Surya. Ajith happens to be the hero of her next film.

Venkat Prabhu directs the film. ‘Mangatha’ is produced by Dayanidhi Azhjagiri. Only yesterday she had signed for the film. It was earlier said that Samantha would be the heroine of the film and Gautham Menon was to have been the director. But it looks like Gautham Menon was removed from the film and so was Samantha.

The story revolves around Mumbai gangsters and it would be a mix of action, romance and comedy.
