Deeksha Seth pairing with Simbhu!

According to sources, Simbu has roped in Tollywood's latest sensation Deeksha Seth as the female lead in his his next flick Vettai Mannan, to be directed by debutant Nelson. Deeksha has already signed Vikram's Vendhan, directed by Suseendaran.

Unlike VTV, Vaanam and Podaa Podi (ongoing), Vettai Mannan will have lots of action with a strong comedy element. Interestingly, Nelson has worked with Simbu in Manmadhan and Vallavan. Vettai Mannan, an action-packed gangster story, is Simbu's costliest film till date (30 to 40 crores). Reportedly the film will narrate the egoistic conflict between two men who work under a don.

Jai of Subramaniapuram fame will play an important role (as Simbu's friend) in this film which will be shot in Chennai, United States and Mexico; Yuvan Shankar Raja will compose its music.

Rajni flying to Singapore for further treatment!

Indian film megastar Rajinikanth is to be discharged from hospital and fly to Singapore, doctors said Friday, just over a week after he was taken into intensive care.

Doctors at the private Sri Ramachandra hospital in the southern city of Chennai declined to say whether his treatment would continue in Singapore, which has some of the best medical facilities in Asia.

Rajinikanth has had fluid drained from his lungs to ease a breathing complaint and some dialysis for a kidney ailment. "Singapore is a place to relax and enjoy and if someone is visiting Singapore it is for rest and recuperation," one doctor said.

Rajinikanth, a former Bangalore bus conductor, is one of Indian cinema's biggest stars and inspires a near god-like devotion from his legions of fans. He was taken ill at the end of April on the first day of shooting for his new film "Rana" (The Monarch) and has been in and out of hospital ever since, sparking a vigil by fans and prayers for his swift recovery.

Tickets for a Singapore Airlines flight have been booked for Rajinikanth's two daughters, one son-in-law, a doctor who treated him in Chennai and his driver, a source at Chennai airport said. Rajinikanth, who is often referred to in southern Tamil Nadu state simply as "The Superstar", had been booked in as a wheelchair passenger.

Kamal Hassan’s ‘Viswaroopam’!

We had earlier told you that Selvaraghavan’s forthcoming ‘Viswaroopam’ failed to get their visas through for shooting in America. Following which, the team chose to shoot in Canada but looks like the visas for the team has been denied again!

Sources close to the crew suggest this may be due to the plot of the movie that might be based on cannibalism. Sources add that the movie is inspired from ‘The silence of lambs’ and its sequel, ‘Hannibal.’
Since the movie is a trilingual, in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, Kamal had suggested Selva to work with Shankar-Eshaan-Loy for scoring the music as the trio are the leading music directors up North.

Now the latest news abuzz is that, the team is traveling to London for a period of 35 days where the duet sequences between Kamal Hassan and Sonakshi Sinha and romance scenes between the duo will be shot.
While the crew is busy over their next schedule, Sonakshi is all smiles about the shoot since this would help her do away with the rumours that are spreading like wildfire about her all over Bollywood.

200 Rajini fans from Bengaluru!

Superstar Rajini is currently in Ramachandra Medical Centre undergoing treatment for a bout of illness. His fans have been offering special prayers to help aid his recovery process and often visit the hospital in huge numbers hoping to hear from him or at least catch a glimpse of him to reassure themselves.

Reccently, 200 Rajini fans from Bengaluru, descended en masse on the hospital in a convoy of 20 vans. They were not allowed into the hospital by security posted expressly for the purpose of preserving the privacy of the great man, but hospital authorities addressed them. The waiting fans were updated on the progress made by Rajini and assured that he was well on the way to complete recovery. Only then did they vacate the premises.

Silambarasan’s Vettai Mannan has begun!

The second schedule for Silambarasan’s Vettai Mannan has begun. The unit is currently stationed in Binny Mills where a massive set has been erected. STR and Jai are working on their portions together. Four hundred junior artistes have also been roped in for the shoot.

Vettai Mannan is going to be an action film and a complete entertainer. Silambarasan is very fond of this genre and after experimenting with his roles in VTV and Vaanam, he will go back to playing a charismatic mass hero in this film.

Vijay,Ileana liplock in Nanban?

One of the highpoints of '3 Idiots' is a romantic encounter between Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the climax, during which they would exchange a passionate kiss. Now that the film is being remade in Tamil, there is a question about retaining the scene.

"It is a long liplock scene which was well received by the audience. But it may not be retained in the Tamil version. Even if it is there, it would be shot in a way that you miss it if you blink," sources close to the unit say.

'3 Idiots' is being Tamilised by Shankar as 'Nanban', with Vijay, Srikanth and Jeeva playing the lead roles. Ileana is the heroine, while Sathyaraj plays her father. Music is scored by Harris Jayaraj.

"Nanban is getting shape fast. Shankar has made some slight changes to the script to make it appeal to the Tamil audience. There may even be a fight sequence to satisfy Vijay fans. But we are not sure about it," sources say further.

Tamanna charged 1.25 crores for liplock!

Responding to the rumours that she has charged a whopping Rs 1.25 crores to perform a liplock scene with Jr. NTR in her upcoming Telugu film Oosaravelli, directed by talented director Surender Reddy, ravishing actress Tamanna said that she will never liplock, stating that she is uncomfortable with kissing scenes.

 

The actress revealed that the first line in her contract say that she would never wear a bikini or act in a liplock scene. "No matter how much money is offered, I will never do it," she said. The actress also lashed out at the media for spreading such rumours.
