Nayanthara converted to Hinduism!

Nayanthara has always sprung a surprise at regular intervals.

And here's the latest exclusive on her.  Diana Mariam Kurian (her original name) a born Christian has converted to Hinduism on Sunday (August 7) morning at Arya Samaj Temple in Chennai.

Nayan flew in from Kochi on Sunday morning and headed straight to the Arya Samaj Temple at Waltax Road in Chennai at around 11am. 

She went through Shuddhi Karma, a procedure involving a Vedic purification and a Homan (a typical Hindu ritual done in front of fire) where Nayan chanted the hymns from Veda and Gayathri mantra under the guidance of the priest.

After the purification ceremony, a Certificate of Conversion to Hinduism was issued to her and she rushed back to Kochi by evening flight. 

She will now be officially known by her Hindu name, Nayanthara.

Trisha getting engaged in September!

South Indian cinema's leading heroine Trisha, as per the grapevine is getting engaged in September!

The rumour mills have it that she has got hooked to Amruth, a young Chennai based entrepreneur.

Trisha's mom Uma was getting restless and she wants her daughter to settle down. She was groom hunting for the last few months and zeroed in on this eligible bachelor from a business family in Chennai.

But the twist in the tale was that Trisha was in no mood for an arranged marriage and insisted that she wanted to spend more time with the guy.

Amruth and Trisha have been spotted at all the popular joints in Chennai having cozy dinners or partying with common friends.

And whenever she gets a break from her Telugu film for which she is shooting in Hyderabad, she rushes back to be with her gang (read Amruth).

And last week, when she received the 'style award' from a popular media house, Amruth was spotted in the front row to cheer her and later at the big bash she threw for her friends. However, the camaraderie and positive vibes among the couple were there for everyone to see.

Vijay’s new project 'Yohan : Adhyayam Ondru' with Gautham!

Vijay's new project with Gautham Vasudev Menon has been titled 'Yohan : Adhyayam Ondru'. The movie will be produced by Gautham Menon's home production house, 'Photon Kathaas'. Reliable sources have said that A.R Rahman would be scoring the music for this flick. The rest of the cast and crew details have not been officially announced yet.

'Ondram Kurikkol: New York' has been given as the slogan or subtitle of the movie which means “first mission in New York”. Reports uggest that this would be a cop movie with Vijay being the man on a mission to solve the case.

According to unconfirmed sources, the movie will be released for 2012 Diwali season. Moreover, the movie will be shot completely in New York and other foreign locations. The news has come as a bolt out of a clear sky and Vijay's fans are happy with this pleasant surprise.

Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara's wedding plans!

The hottest news currently on the grapevine is Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara's wedding. Word has got out that the marriage will happen in Mumbai far from the media circus that follows them around in the South. Nayan who has completed all pending projects is focusing entirely on wedding preparations since she wants everything to go perfectly for her dream wedding.

Prabhu Deva is currently working on a film with Vishal called Vedi and will also be doing a Bollywood version of Siruthai with Akshay Kumar. But he plans to take some time off for the impending nuptials. He has taken care of all the legal hassles and is now officially divorced from Ramlath. So the lovebirds are free to enter marital bliss and they can't wait to begin their journey together, we hear.

Rana resume its shooting on October 3!

South Indian superstar Rajinikanth's much-discussed big budget film Rana, which was halted owing to the ill health of its lead actor, is likely to resume its shooting on October 3 at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, the film's director K.S. Ravikumar hinted.

"I met Mr. Rajinikanth and he is recovering well. He might join the shoot from October 2011," the director said. He also said that there had been no changes in the script and the shooting would continue as originally planned.

The first schedule will reportedly commence with a dance sequence choreographed by dance master Brinda. Two huge sets of a palace and a ship will be erected at RFC. Heroine Deepika Padukone and Sonu Sood will also join the sets at RFC on October 3. Rana is produced by Eros International.

A R Rahman for vijay’s ‘Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru’?

On Friday, when newspaper advertisements announcing the launch of 'Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru', a film which will bring together Vijay and Gautham Vasudev Menon, didn't feature the name of the music composer, sources says that A R Rahman will join the team.

We got it right this time too, for it has now been officially announced that the Oscar-Grammy winner will compose music for the film, which will be produced by Gautham's Photon Kathaas.

And one more interesting detail has also emerged. Yesterday, a tagline in the advertisements said 'Mission One: New York'. Today, it was 'Mission Two: Paris', proving our other claim, that the film would be an adrenaline pumping action-thriller, which will be shot in different foreign locales.

Expectations are running high on the movie and Vijay fans are extremely thrilled that their favourite star is teaming up with Gautham Menon. The only thing that disappoints them is that they have to wait for more than a year to watch the film.
