AR Rahman ready with road tour titled – Rahmanishq!

The Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman is all set for his India road tour titled – Rahmanishq this October.

Kicking it off with the AR Rahman ‘Rahmanishq’ Australian Tour @ Allphones Arena (ex Acer Arena), Sydney Olympic Park, NSW on Saturday 24 August, 2013 at 07:30 PM, a list of concerts await his loyal fans in India.

Spread across a one month long experience, the Oscar winning composer would tour Kolkata (Salt Lake Stadium, 1st), Visakhapatnam (Indira Priyadarshni Cricket Stadium, 12th), Jaipur (Bhawani Niketan Education Trust, 20th) and Ahmedabad (Sardar Patel Stadium, 27th) this October 2013 courtesy – Techfront and Rapport Global Events.

At his personal blog AR Rahman later wrote “the concert is a gesture of love to my fans in India.I want to closely interact with my fans while we celebrate my music at the tour. I would like to take this opportunity to give back to my fans what they gave me. We hope that this will mark a new beginning for many more such tours that will benchmark the music industry. Music is the language of the souls and what cannot be put into words can be expressed through music.”

The organizers promise this to be a one of kind experience and “a magical fusion of music and technology for a visual extravaganza combined with radical Fan Engagement.” As for AR Rahman, it his curiosity to go to cities that he usually doesn’t think of, with the usual favorites being Delhi and Mumbai. This time, like always, he wants it to be different!

Music Director James Vasanthan arrested

Popular music director James Vasanthan has been arrested for his alleged derogatory remarks against his neighbour Radha Venuprasad, a 64 year old. Radha, a resident of Palavakkam, has submitted a case against James Vasanthan with Neelankarai police station accusing him of abusing her in foul language.

James Vasanthan and Radha are neighbours living in adjacent plots at VGP Golden Seaview, Palavakkam. Reportedly the trouble started, when the musician had started the construction of his house couple of years back in an adjacent plot. But Radha, a Asthma patient had breathing problems because of the dust rising from the construction site, the neighbours talks ended in verbal attack from both sides. Radha filed a complaint  in May 2011 of verbal abuse and attacking her with a flower pot. However the case is pending in court.

Against this backdrop, now Radha has filed a fresh complaint against him for abusing her with offensive swear words on Saturday morning and urged the police men to take immediate action.

On her complaint, the Neelankarai police have charged James Vasanthan under three acts, including Women Harassment Act.

When contacted,  James Vasanthan denied all the allegations made against him. “It was Radha who abused me on Saturday morning, now I am amused how she  could go on to make to complaint against me . Though I have a good reputation in the society, I am being treated like a terrorist.Over 50 policemen arrived at my house to arrest me, they even manhandled me and my wife. I know the law will take its course. My conscience is clear. I trust in God above all.”, he said.

Actress Kanaka undergoing treatment in Alappuzha!

"I`m not dead yet," said Kanaka Mahalakshmi, a well-known southern actress, to squash rumours of her death. On Tuesday, it was reported that Kanaka, who was undergoing treatment at the Palliative Care Hospital in Alappuzha, Kerala for cancer, died after the treatment failed to cure the disease.

Late in the evening, Kanaka called a press conference at her residence here to clarify rumours about her death. "I`m not dead yet as I have been quoted by some media channels. I`m perfectly healthy. I don`t have cancer and neither have I had the scare! The last time I was in Kerala, it was in 1992 when I was shooting for a Malayalam film. I`m very much alive! These are nothing but speculations," Kanaka said.

She also said this was neither a publicity stunt.

"I don`t think anyone would fake their death, not even film stars. I have stayed away from cinema for personal reasons, but I`m likely to return soon. I have been getting offers, but I`m waiting for the perfect role," she said. Kanaka, who rose to fame with 1989 Tamil blockbuster debut "Karakattakaran", is the daughter of yesteryear actress Devika. Since her mother passed away in 2002, Kanaka has been away from filmdom.

In the Malayalam film industry, she worked with superstars like Mammootty and Mohanlal. In fact, Shaji Kailas` 2000 hit film "Narasimham" saw her sharing the screen space with the both of them. Her other Malayalam films include "Vietnam Colony", "Golanthara Vartha" and "Pingami". She is known for several hit films such as "Godfather", "Periya Kudumbam" and "Jallikattu Kalai".

Hansika Motwani and Simbu Wedding Plans!

Recently, Hansika Motwani and Simbu stunned the fans and movie buffs by openly admitting on Twitter that they were in a relationship. As its already very clear that they are deeply in love, the next common question they will be asked would be ‘Date of Marriage?’.

To everyone’s surprise, Both Hansika and Simbhu made contrasting statements in their recent interviews when enquired about the wedding plans.

Hansika stated that Work is her prime focus at the moment and marriage can wait. She confidently said wedding willn’t happen at least for a few years from now.

On the other hand, Simbhu claimed he would be marrying Hansika with the consent of his parents in 2014 and wished to lead the marital life in a peaceful and dignified manner like Ajith who is his favorite hero.

The difference in the statements might be either due to the lack of proper co-ordination or different mind sets. They should have at least discussed few important things like marriage by now to maintain a clarity. Hope, the Love Birds learn from their mistakes.

Manjula passed away!

Actress Manjula, wife of actor Vijayakumar has passed away in Chennai today (23-07-13) at a private hospital in Chennai. The actress was taken into medical attention after she picked up a severe injury by falling from her bed.

 

As per the reports stated from her husband Vijayakumar, Manjula has picked up an injury in her stomach after falling from her bed at her residence in Alapakkam. The actress was later rushed to a private hospital in Porur and was taken to the intensive care unit.

The 59-year old actress made her debut as a child artiste in 'Shanti Nilayam'. She shot to fame after playing the female lead in MGR starrer Rickshawkaran. Manjula has featured in a number of Tamil and Telugu films and has also performed as a senior character artiste.

The demise of Manjula at a very early age has taken the Tamil film industry by a shock.

Shruti Hassan with Akshay in Gabbar!

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Ramana Hindi remake, which has been titled Gabbar has now roped Shruti Hassan to play the lead states recent reports. Earlier reports had it that Ileana D Cruz has been finalized, however few other sources said that it is Tamanna Bhatia who has bagged the role.

The decision to finalize Shruti is said to have been made as Tamanna has already paired up with Akki in the film ‘Its Entertainment’. Ramana is a hit Tamil movie, directed by AR Murugadoss which had Vijaykanth and Simran in the leads, with Ashima Bhalla playing the second lead. Interestingly Shruti was also part of a Telugu film titled Gabbar Singh (Telugu remake of Dabangg) alongside Pawan Kalyan.

Gabbar Hindi movie will be produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and is directed by Tamil director Jayam Raja.

Anirudh opted out of Lawrence Muni 3

Music Composer Anirudh Ravichander who is now busy with multiple projects is said to have opted out of Muni 3, directed by Raghava Lawrence, with Tapasee Pannu playing the female lead.

Anirudh is said to be having date issues that he cannot accommodate time for this thriller franchise project.

Anirudh tweeted, “Due to time constraints and existing commitments, I will not be scoring for Muni 3.All other projects for 2013 are on in full swing.”

Anirudh is currently working on Vanakkam Chennai, which stars Shiva & Priya Anand in the lead and Sivakarthikeyan’s Maan Karate.

He recently sung a composition for D Imman, and is also said to have been signed on for AR Murugadoss’s upcoming film with Vijay.
